It’s Domestic Violence Prevention Month.
Everyone has the right to live free from violence.
Throughout May, YWCA Hunter is hosting a Donation Drive to assist local women affected by domestic and family violence.
If you’re in a position to help, please donate essential items suitable for women staying in refuge and crisis accommodation. All donations received will be delivered to local shelters.
If you are facing violence in your home, or feel threatened, for support call 1800RESPECT or visit 1800respect.org.au.

Where to donate: YWCA Hunter, 24 Dawson Street, Cooks Hill (during office hours)
When to donate: All throughout May.
What to donate:
Clothing – New and near new clothing in good condition, shoes and accessories for women of all ages, children and teens.
Toiletries – Sanitary items, toilet paper and tissues, shampoo and conditioner, soap and shower gel, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, moisturiser, sunscreen, lip balm and tissues.
Laundry Products – baskets and powder, softener, dishwashing liquid, scourers and sponges, cleaning products, dustpan and brush, broom, toilet brush, paper towel.
Art Therapy – blank canvas, paints & brushes, sketch pads & pencils, colouring books
Gift Vouchers – $10-$20 from Big W/Kmart etc
Please note – no furniture, crockery and household items, linen, towels, sheets, etc.
