ENCORE Coming to Maitland in 2026

We are thrilled to announce that ENCORE is coming to Maitland in 2026, following the success of our application to Maitland City Council’s Biannual Community Projects Grants Program.

At last week’s Council meeting, Maitland City Council announced the successful recipients of Round Two of the 2025/2026 Grants Program, with 24 local projects sharing over $90,000 in funding. The program provides crucial financial support to community organisations, groups, and individuals working to deliver initiatives that meet local needs and benefit residents.

We’re proud that ENCORE Maitland is one of the funded initiatives. Bringing this life-changing program to even more women in our community.

About ENCORE

Launching in the Hunter Region in 1998 ENCORE is YWCA Hunter Region’s free, eight-week exercise and wellbeing program designed for women who have experienced breast cancer. The program includes gentle land and water-based exercises, relaxation techniques, and expert-led education sessions to support recovery and wellbeing.

Why This Matters

With breast cancer affecting many women in the Hunter Region, accessible recovery programs like ENCORE play an essential role in rebuilding strength, confidence and connection.

Building on Community Momentum

This exciting step forward comes shortly after our successful Walk for ENCORE, where the community helped raise $19,586 to support local women through the program.
