ENCORE Instructor Cindy Cawsey Recognised for Her Impact Supporting Women After Breast Cancer

YWCA Hunter is proud to celebrate ENCORE instructor Cindy Cawsey, who was recently featured in the Maitland Mercury for her extraordinary dedication to supporting women recovering from breast cancer.

For those who have attended an ENCORE program, Cindy's recognition comes as no surprise. Every program, she brings compassion, understanding and encouragement, creating a welcoming and supportive environment where women can rebuild their confidence, regain strength and connect with others who truly understand their journey.

Cindy's path to becoming an ENCORE instructor is deeply personal. After losing her best friend to breast cancer, she turned her grief into purpose by dedicating her time to helping other women navigate life after treatment. Her empathy, kindness and lived experience have touched the lives of countless ENCORE participants across the Hunter.

YWCA Hunter Executive Director, Caz O'Brien, said Cindy's passion and commitment shine through every time she leads a program.

"Cindy Cawsey, we are so blessed to have you at YWCA Hunter. Your energy and passion shine through every time you walk into our YWCA Hunter ENCORE program. It's the perfect match."

ENCORE is a free, evidence-based exercise, education and support program designed specifically for women after breast cancer treatment. The program helps participants improve their physical wellbeing while building confidence, fostering friendships and reminding women that they don't have to face recovery alone.

Everyone at YWCA Hunter is incredibly proud to have Cindy as part of the ENCORE team and delighted to see her recognised for the remarkable difference she continues to make in the lives of women across our community.

Congratulations, Cindy, and thank you for everything you do. 💜
