Celebrating Our Wonderful YWCA Hunter Volunteers

At YWCA Hunter, we are incredibly fortunate to be supported by a passionate and generous community of volunteers who help make our programs, events and community initiatives possible.

As part of National Volunteer Week 2026, we want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate the amazing people who give their time, energy and talents to support others across our community.

A special thank you to Cathy for being our pickleball guru and always jumping in wherever help is needed. From lending a hand at activities to supporting events, your enthusiasm and generosity make such a difference.

We also want to thank Jodie for hitting the ground running and setting up our beautiful new Street Library. It looks fantastic and will help create even more opportunities for connection, sharing and community spirit.

A huge thank you as well to Cheree, our dedicated Return and Earn champion, along with everyone who helps behind the scenes with BBQs, walks, fundraising initiatives, community events and day-to-day support across our programs.

No matter how big or small the role, every volunteer contribution matters. Volunteers help create welcoming spaces, stronger connections and more enjoyable experiences for everyone involved.

This year’s National Volunteer Week theme, Your Year to Volunteer, celebrates the many ways people contribute and encourages Australians to make 2026 a year of meaningful involvement, in ways that work for them.

Volunteering is about more than giving time. It’s about creating connection, building community and making a positive impact. We are so grateful to every volunteer who supports YWCA Hunter and the wider community.

To every volunteer: thank you 💛
